Description

Cajun Sausage Pasta is a savory, creamy dish that combines tender pasta with spicy sausage and vibrant vegetables for a quick and satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 12 oz smoked Cajun sausage, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup bell peppers (mix of red and green), chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté the onion and bell peppers until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and sliced Cajun sausage; cook until the sausage is browned, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add Cajun seasoning and chicken broth; bring to a simmer. Then stir in heavy cream until well combined.
  5. Fold in the cooked pasta and let everything simmer together for an additional couple of minutes.
  6. Serve hot with freshly grated Parmesan on top.
