- 2 tbsp chili powder

Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté until translucent.
- Stir in ground beef (or turkey) and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
- Add diced bell peppers along with chili powder and cumin; stir for about two minutes until fragrant.
- Mix in canned tomatoes (with juice) and kidney beans; let simmer for five minutes.
- Drizzle in maple syrup; stir well to combine. Reduce heat to low and let simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
