Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In one bowl, combine melted butter and cocoa powder; mix in granulated sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Then add vanilla extract and fold in flour and baking powder until just combined.
  3. In another bowl, cream unsalted butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy. Mix in eggs and vanilla extract, then gradually add flour and baking powder. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Spread half of the brownie batter in the pan, dollop cookie dough on top, then pour remaining brownie batter over it. Swirl lightly to combine.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  6. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
