- 24 ladyfingers
- 1 cup freshly brewed espresso (cooled)
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp coffee liqueur or brandy (optional)
Instructions
- Brew espresso and let it cool slightly. Mix in coffee liqueur if desired.
- In a bowl, whisk together mascarpone cheese and sugar until smooth. In another bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then gently fold into the mascarpone mixture.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso and layer half in a rectangular dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture on top.
- Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture. Smooth the top evenly.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least four hours or overnight.
- Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and slice to serve.
