  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond milk)
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter (natural)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round 9-inch cake pans with butter; dust with flour.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs, milk, melted butter, peanut butter, and vanilla until smooth. Combine with dry ingredients until no lumps remain.
  4. Gently fold in chocolate chips and divide batter between prepared pans. Smooth tops with a spatula.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
