  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 3 large eggs

  • ½ cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  3. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt; stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. In another bowl, cream softened butter and sugars for the cookie layer. Add eggs and vanilla, then mix in flour and baking soda until just combined.
  5. Layer half of the brownie batter in the pan. Spoon cookie dough on top, then pour remaining brownie batter over it and swirl gently.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool before slicing.
