  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated preferred)
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs (or panko for extra crunch)
  • ¼ cup fresh basil (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Season each chicken breast on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Coat the chicken in seasoned breadcrumbs mixed with half of the grated Parmesan.
  4. Place the breaded chicken in the baking dish and bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Remove from the oven, spoon marinara sauce over each breast, and top with mozzarella and remaining Parmesan.
  6. Broil for an additional 3-5 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
