  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed to 110°F (43°C)
  • 1 cup walnuts or pistachios, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup honey (for drizzling)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until bubbly (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter; mix until shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl and cover; let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Mix chopped nuts, cinnamon, and remaining sugar for the filling.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread melted butter over it, then sprinkle the nut mixture evenly.
  6. Roll tightly from one long side into a log shape and slice into equal pieces.
  7. Arrange slices in a greased baking pan; let rise for another 20-30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Drizzle honey over hot buns immediately after baking.
