  • 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 2 large sweet potatoes)
  • 1 cup toasted pecans, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 package puff pastry sheets (2 sheets)
  • Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Peel and chop sweet potatoes into small pieces. Boil until tender (15-20 minutes), then drain and mash until smooth.
  3. In a bowl, mix mashed sweet potatoes with brown sugar, bourbon, cinnamon, nutmeg, and chopped pecans until creamy.
