Description

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. For the brownie layer, mix melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in cocoa powder and flour until just combined, then fold in half of the chocolate chips.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and remaining granulated sugar until fluffy. Add in eggs and vanilla extract before mixing in flour until fully incorporated. Fold in the remaining chocolate chips.
  4. Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared dish, then dollop spoonfuls of cookie dough on top.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs attached.
  6. Allow cooling for at least ten minutes before slicing into squares.
