Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made or homemade pie crust
  • 200g dark chocolate (high-quality)
  • 100g roasted hazelnuts (chopped)
  • 240ml heavy cream
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 115g unsalted butter
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If using homemade crust, roll it out into your pie pan. For pre-made crusts, simply place it in the pan.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale yellow. Mix in the melted chocolate and vanilla extract.
  4. Gently fold in heavy cream and chopped hazelnuts, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the filling into the prepared crust and bake for 30-35 minutes until slightly set but still wobbly in the center. Allow to cool completely before slicing.
  6. Garnish as desired with whipped cream or extra chopped hazelnuts before serving.
