  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 lb fresh cheese curds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Oil for frying (enough to fill the pot 2 inches deep)

Instructions

  1. Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one for flour mixed with salt and pepper, another for beaten eggs, and the last for panko breadcrumbs.
  2. Coat each cheese curd in seasoned flour, dip it in eggs, then roll it in breadcrumbs until fully covered.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Fry the coated cheese curds in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes each.
  5. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
