Ingredients

  • 12 oz ziti pasta
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage (optional)
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Gather all the ingredients. If using meat, brown it in the Instant Pot on sauté mode until fully cooked.
  2. In a bowl, combine ricotta, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add half of the marinara sauce to the pot, followed by half of the uncooked ziti and half of the cheese mixture. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  4. Pour in 1 cup of water over the layers; do not stir.
  5. Close the lid and set to manual high pressure for 5 minutes. Allow natural release for 5 minutes before quick-releasing any remaining pressure.
  6. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top and close the lid for 2 minutes to melt. Serve hot with fresh herbs and extra marinara if desired.
