- 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 cup unsalted pecans
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper until well coated.
- Spread the Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet in a single layer and roast for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- While the sprouts are roasting, heat a skillet over medium heat and add pecans and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. Cook for about 5 minutes until fragrant and caramelized.
- Drizzle the roasted Brussels sprouts with the remaining maple syrup, add the candied pecans, and mix gently.
- Return everything to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, then serve warm.
