  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup unsalted pecans
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper until well coated.
  3. Spread the Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet in a single layer and roast for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  4. While the sprouts are roasting, heat a skillet over medium heat and add pecans and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. Cook for about 5 minutes until fragrant and caramelized.
  5. Drizzle the roasted Brussels sprouts with the remaining maple syrup, add the candied pecans, and mix gently.
  6. Return everything to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, then serve warm.
