  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (toasted)
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk warm milk and yeast; let sit until frothy.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Add melted butter, eggs, and the frothy yeast mixture; mix until combined.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about an hour.
  4. For the filling: mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; chop toasted walnuts.
  5. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over it, sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mix and walnuts. Roll tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces.
  6. Place in a greased baking pan; cover and let rise while preheating oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
