Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp red gel food coloring
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 8 oz softened cream cheese
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. 2. In another bowl, whisk milk, melted butter, eggs, and red food coloring. Gradually combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients until just mixed.
  3. 3. Roll out dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick. Spread melted butter over the dough and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll tightly into a log and slice into 12 pieces.

  5. 5. For frosting, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
