  • 4 cups cubed day-old crusty bread (about 8 ounces)
  • 1 pound pork sausage (spicy or sweet)
  • 2 medium Granny Smith apples, diced
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Sauté onions and celery until softened, about 5 minutes. Add sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in apples and sage; cook for an additional 3 minutes.
