  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the chicken breasts and pat dry.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
  3. Place chicken in the slow cooker and pour the teriyaki sauce over it, ensuring it's well-coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until fork-tender.
  5. Mix cornstarch slurry into the slow cooker about 30 minutes before serving to thicken the sauce.
  6. Shred chicken in the slow cooker and stir to coat with sauce before serving.
