Description

Spicy Shrimp & Avocado Phyllo Cups are a vibrant and flavorful appetizer combining crispy phyllo pastry with zesty shrimp and creamy avocado, perfect for impressing guests at any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 8 sheets phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 ripe avocados, mashed
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season shrimp with salt, pepper, cayenne, and paprika. Sauté until pink and fragrant (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. In a bowl, mix mashed avocados with lime juice and cilantro. Gently fold in the sautéed shrimp.
  4. Layer phyllo sheets on a clean surface, brushing each with olive oil. Cut into squares and press into muffin tins.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Allow cups to cool slightly, then fill with the shrimp and avocado mixture.
