Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 24 tbsp water or aquafaba (chickpea liquid)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients on your counter for easy access.
  2. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, salt, cumin, and 2 tablespoons of water. Blend until smooth.
  3. If the mixture is too thick, gradually add more water or aquafaba until desired consistency is achieved.
  4. Taste the hummus and adjust seasoning with more salt or lemon juice if necessary.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and garnish with paprika if desired.
